Reopening Night

On March 12, 2020, NY Governor Andrew Cuomo and Charlotte St. Martin, President of the Broadway League, made the call to cancel all Broadway performances due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly a year and a half later, with the utmost safety precautions in place and both performers and audience members aching to be back in theaters, Broadway theaters began to open up again.

The folks at RPM noticed that with this exciting news came a great deal of confusion, as several productions decided to end their runs mid-shutdown and others were announced to open in their place. Thus, reopeningnight.com was born – a simple website to help audiences learn when their favorite shows are back on Broadway.

I was asked to design a visual identity and website layout to organize and share this information with the general public. The resulting work was inspired by airport arrivals gate leaderboards, with a touch of yellow and black in honor of the iconic Broadway Playbill header.
